Okay, some valid points were brought up in the merger thread about whether or not we should change the name of our fed to fully reflect the merger between EW and the PWO.

Now, the arguements that some people have made, I fully disagree with. The notion that we should change our name because "the Experts don't like us" is ridiculous. As far as I am concerned, if we are shunned from them, it is THEIR loss.

However.....I do feel that a name change could be pretty appropriate. Some suggestions have included......

~ Prominent Wrestling Evolution
~ Prominent Evolution Wrestling
~ Pro Wrestling Evolution
~ Pro Wrestling EVO
~ Evolution Pro Wrestling
~ Evolution Wrestling Organization

What I would like here is a discussion about this and a vote. I would like EVERYONE to participate in this, so please, let your voice be heard. Also, please BOLD your votes, making them easy to see.

BTW, if you don't want a name change, then vote "Leave It Alone".

To my ear, Evolution Wrestling Organization and Prominent Wrestling Evolution sound the best (and have the best initials!)

What say you, EW/PWO Universe!?!

I'm going to cast my vote for Evolution Pro Wrestling. Seems to have a nice ring to it.

Personally, I would like the Evolution name to stay the same. So I guess my vote is leave it alone.

Before I came back to EW, I tried to begin a project known as Astral Pro Wrestling. It bombed. Badly. Enough said.

I vote leave it alone. If we want to have the argument of "Who cares if the Experts hates us", then we should be steadfast in that argument. I agree that a name change is absolutely appropriate, but I also believe it would be a lot of work trying to basically do a WWE and make us NXT from ECW, ya know?

I vote leave it alone. I realize that the merger with PWO would have to be reflected in something, but I don't think a name change would be appropriate. As the old saying goes, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, and the name of Evolution Wrestling is far from broke. Personally, I think we should celebrate the merger by unifying some of the PWO and eW titles, creating something new out of them. It lets the place evolve without changing too much.

Well, obviously no one currently here wants to change the name and why would they. If they keep the name the same nothing changes for them except for the fact that their roster is over doubled. Win Win

So far, it's 3-4 in favor of keeping the name the same, but we haven't heard from everyone. If the majority wants a name change, then it will happen. I doubt anyone is going to throw a bitchfit and walk away over it, and anyone that would doesn't belong here anyway. I would love to keep the name, as I'm something of a traditionalist when it comes to matters like this, but I'm not entirely opposed to a new one. For what it's worth, had we all moved to the PWO boards, I'd have voted against changing the name.

I think Evolution Pro Wrestling is the pick of the bunch but quite frankly it makes no difference to me. I do like the Evolution name though

Could we at least talk about a new line of Championships.

I have always hated the "alternative" names for Titles. I guess just as Rex suggested, I am a traditionalist. I need a Heavyweight Champion of the World. A second more regional title. (US, Inter-anything, America's). One other peripheral title(Extreme, Hardcore, Lightweight). And then possibly tag team titles. That's just me.

Maybe a Prominent World Champion (World Heavyweight), New America Champion (regional champion), some sort of special attraction title, and and KK also suggested, an eventual tag team championship.
